The Elberton 12 County will celebrate its 80th year of operation in 2013, and was Voted “One of the 10 Great Places for Blue Ribbon County Fairs”, in USA Today in 2010.

This years’ Fair will also include many of the annual favorites. Carnival Midway by Family Attractions, Big Time Wrestling, Elberton Idol Contest, and the BMX Stunt Show every night, presented by "The Freestyle Connection" of Athens Georgia.

This year is the 4th annual "Miss Elberton County" and "Little Miss Elberton County" Pageant. This year we have a new Promoter for this event. Shining Moments Pageant Productions. They do a fantastic job and are very professional. Winners of age divisions will receive great age appropriate gifts, an Embroidered Sash and a Large Trophy and Crown. The Fair scheduled for October 7-13, 2013, will be the "Event of the Year" in Northeast Georgia, according to Dick Carl, Fair Manager. Carl goes on to say that the fair management staff has been working during the past year to bring the best county fair ever to Elbert County and northeast Georgia. The fair serves 10 northeast counties in Georgia as well as 2 counties in South Carolina.

More popular than ever, the Ultimate Elberton Idol Contest will take the Coke Entertainment Stage for the ninth year. The contestants will audition on-air on the morning show on WSGC 105.3 for the right to perform during the preliminaries at the fair on Tuesday night October 8th. Finals will be held on Saturday October 12th.

This year will be the third year that we are presenting the nightly prize drawings. It has become very popular with the fair goers and the prizes are getting better every year.

Fair goers are reminded that Blue Ribbons and some nice premium monies can be earned by exhibiting what they have grown or raised during the year. Jellies, Jams, Crafts, Art and many other categories are detailed in the fair Premium Book which is available at the fair office or on line at Elberton.com.
